The New England Patriots defeated the Buffalo Bills by a 29-26 margin. This was a game where New England battled throughout and did not give up until the final whistle.
It sounds cliché, but the Patriots stuck with it and picked up their second victory of the season.
When down by five points late in the fourth quarter, Patriots quarterback Drake Maye led the team on a game-winning drive that ended with a ridiculous one-handed, 23-yard touchdown catch by second-year receiver Efton Chism III.
It came on a day when Maye looked like the MVP-caliber quarterback that Patriots fans remembered from last season. He finished the game going 22-of-37 passing for 269 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He also led the the team in rushing with eight
carries for 54 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, the unit stepped up in a big way without star cornerback Christian Gonzalez and defensive tackle Christian Barmore. They limited Bills quarterback Josh Allen's scrambling and kept running back James Cook from breaking the game wide open.
Here's how social media reacted to the Patriots' stunning upset victory:
