The New England Patriots have officially activated veteran wide receiver Mack Hollins from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.
Hollins hasn't played since suffering a calf injury in the team's 29-26 win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 4. This is huge news for the banged-up Patriots offense and quarterback Drake Maye, who will be getting one of his most reliable downfield receiving targets back on the football field.
Before going down with the injury, Hollins had 15 receptions for 209 yards in the season. He stepped up on offense when the team lost A.J. Brown in the opener against the Seattle Seahawks. Now, the Patriots are missing both Brown and Romeo Doubs.
Hollins gives the team another veteran option to attack
outside of the numbers against Green Bay's top-10 passing defense. Along with Hollins, the Patriots are down to DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism III.
That group faces a tall task against a Packers defense allowing an average of only 195 passing yards per game when playing on the road.
