FOXBOROUGH, Mass — The New England Patriots lost one of their key players during the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Mike Onwenu was injured during the first quarter of the game, and after remaining down for a period of time, the cart came out for him. He hopped over, not able to put any pressure on his right left, and then left the field. The Patriots almost immediately ruled him out with an ankle injury.

The injury occurred After T.J. Watt sacked Drake Maye, with Onwenu getting rolled up on.

Greg Van Roten came in for him, taking over at right guard.

Onwenu is the longest-tenured player on the Patriots roster, having only missed two games throughout the last four seasons. The offensive lineman is also in the last year

of his deal.
