New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel gave an update on Brenden Schooler’s status after the team’s most recent practice on Friday.
According to Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller, Vrabel stated to the media that Schooler will come off of the reserve/non-football injury list and make his season debut on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders at Gillette Stadium.
Schooler began training camp on the NFI list due to a back issue but was a full participant in practice this week. New England kept him on the reserve list through the opening four games of the season before ultimately opening his return-to-practice window.
Schooler played in 16 games during the 2025 season, recording 19 tackles, including 11 solo tackles. His greatest value came on special teams,
where he led the Patriots with 14 special-teams tackles in the regular season and added a team-high six more in the playoffs.
The 29-year-old Schooler is a former 2024 first-team All-Pro and has appeared in 66 career games. His return restores an experienced, physical leader to a Patriots special-teams unit preparing for a key Week 5 matchup against the Raiders.
