New England Patriots cornerback Carlton Davis III returned for Wednesday’s practice, according to Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller, marking a positive development for him as he works his way back from a neck injury.
Davis’ participation does not guarantee that he will be available for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it represents a meaningful step in the right direction after he missed last week’s contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. His workload throughout the remainder of the week will indicate whether he will be able to return to the lineup for the pivotal matchup against the Jaguars.
The Patriots’ official injury report will provide additional clarity on his status moving forward. Davis’ potential return will provide New
England with a needed boost, especially with the team dealing with other injuries in the secondary at the safety slot, including Craig Woodson and Dell Pettus.

Davis has three total tackles on the season, all coming in the Patriots’ 13-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. The Patriots will continue monitoring Davis before deciding whether he is cleared to play against Jacksonville on Sunday.
