New England Patriots rookie Gabe Jacas delivered one of the strongest pass-rushing performances in the NFL in Week 4.
Pro Football Focus gave Jacas an 89.1 pass rush grade for his play in the Patriots’ 29-26 victory over the Bills. The rookie edge defender’s grade ranked third among all players for the week and highlighted the effect that he had on Bills quarterback Josh Allen in the game.
Only Abdul Carter (90.1) and Dallas Turner (89.9) received higher pass rush grades than Jacas for the week. Jacas’ placement behind those two defenders put him among the week’s most productive players, despite his impact extending beyond the traditional sacks total.
Jacas recorded three total tackles in the win over Buffalo, and he also ran over Pro Bowl left
tackle Dion Dawkins and nearly caused a safety on Allen.

Though he did not record a sack, forced fumble or quarterback hit, he still generated disruption against the Bills’ protection and helped try to slow down Allen throughout the game.
Jacas’ Week 4 showing provided further evidence that New England ought to feel confident about relying on him to be a meaningful piece of its pass-rushing rotation moving forward.
