The New England Patriots announced that they are elevating running back Lan Larison and punter Mitch Wishnowskyto the active roster from the practice squad on Wednesday, as the team prepares for its season opener against the Seattle Seahawks.
Larison adds depth to the Patriots’ offensive backfield with TreVeyon Henderson set to miss the Week 1 matchup against the Seahawks due to an ankle injury. The 24-year-old Larison gives New England another available option in the ground game against a strong Seattle defense.
Wishnowsky’s addition supplies New England with an experienced punter for their special teams unit with Bryce Baringer on injured reserve.
The moves allow New England to address immediate roster needs to begin the year. The Patriots had
not announced any related transactions in connection with the elevations.
New England will be on the road to take on Seattle to kick off the new season.
