New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown took some time to address the medical situation surrounding his former teammate, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
On Monday, it was announced that Hurts would miss the remainder of the NFL season after doctors discovered multiple blood clots in his lungs. He is expected to be treated with blood thinners, which will sideline him for at least the next three months, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport.
"It's a tough situation, man, I've got a lot of love and respect for him, praying for him," Brown told reporters on Tuesday. "I didn't know how serious it was. I think all of us kind of found that out, but he's a tough guy. He's a tough guy, and he can handle anything. ...He can handle it,
and I pray God continue to keep his hand on him. It's a lot of love and respect from this way."

Some things are bigger than football.
Brown spent four years playing with Hurts in Philadelphia, and regardless of how things ended, there's still mutual love and respect between the two.
The good news is that doctors pinpointed the issue, and Hurts can start treatment to hopefully get back to doing what he loves to do. And for fans, this is simply one of many reminders of the sacrifices that athletes make every time they step onto the field.
