The New England Patriots released their first injury report ahead of their Week 3 showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
It has been a rough week for the Patriots on the injury front, following their Week 2 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coach Mike Vrabel revealed that the team placed safety Dell Pettus on injured reserve when speaking with media members.
Safety Craig Woodson, rookie edge rusher Quintayvious Hutchins and veteran pass rusher Dre'Mont Jones were out at Wednesday's practice. The good news for the Patriots is that veteran cornerback Carlton Davis III returned and was a full participant, which bodes well for his chances of playing against the Jaguars.
Special teams ace Brenden Schooler also returned to the practice field
in a limited capacity. He started the football season on the non-football injury list and appears to be nearing a return.
