New England Patriots linebacker Robert Spillane had a message for Drake Maye after the team's disappointing Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
"Stop taking all of [expletive] blame for it."
The Patriots had an opportunity to steal a win on the road with Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold going down with an injury after the first drive. However, the offense could never get into a rhythm, and things completely fell off a cliff with Maye throwing three interceptions in the second half.
Overall, the third-year quarterback finished with 178 passing yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.
“Stop taking all the (expletive) blame for it," Spillane said he told Maye after the loss, when appearing on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show. "This is a team game and
he feels like he has to put all the pressure on his shoulders. But at the end of the day this is a team game, and we all support him and we know he’s gonna go out there this weekend and really knock your socks off.”

A solid performance from Maye would go a long way towards sparking life in the offense.
He'll have to step up without his best weapon, A.J. Brown, on the field for the game. The three-time All-Pro wide receiver was placed on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain, and he is slated to miss at least the next four games.
Fortunately for Maye, he'll have the backing of the entire New England fan base in Foxborough for Sunday's AFC clash with the Steelers.
