New England Patriots defensive tackle Cory Durden had a message for those impacted by roster cuts over the weekend. He shared an inspirational post on social media for those still coming to grips with the possibility that their time in the NFL might be over.
"To everybody getting told to turn they iPad in today. Keep going this time last year i got cut and became a pat and the rest was history. This a marathon not a sprint," Durden posted on X, ahead of Sunday's roster cuts.
Last year, the New York Giants cut Durden, and the Patriots subsequently picked him up. From there, he rewrote his story by becoming a key rotational defender for New England in the season. He finished the year with 30 tackles, five tackles for loss and one quarterback hit
That showing ultimately paved the way for him earning the starting nose tackle job this year.

Durden's story is a strong reminder of the importance of preseverance when it comes to chasing a goal.
He took a disappointing moment, learned from it and turned it into a major positive in his career. There are surely others out there seeing him lead by example and pushing to do the same.
