New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was given a 92 overall rating in Madden NFL 27, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, on the heels of finishing as the AP NFL MVP runner-up last season.
Maye had a career year in 2025 with the Patriots. He threw for 4,394 yards and 31 touchdowns, and led the NFL in completion rate at 72 percent. The North Carolina product led the Patriots to the Super Bowl at the end of last season and established himself as one of the best deep-ball throwers in the league from start to finish.
The 23-year-old Maye was rated behind only Los Angeles Rams' Matthew Stafford, Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen (99), Cincinnati Bengals' Joe Burrow (97), Baltimore Ravens' Lamar Jackson (94) and Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes (93)
at the quarterback position.
Maye will get the chance to show why he was given the Madden rating that he received once the 2026 season begins.
The Patriots have significantly upgraded the weapons around him and improved along the offensive line, paving the way for the young quarterback to have a chance at his best season yet.
