It wasn't all bad news for the New England Patriots on Friday.
After multiple key players were ruled out for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson told reporters that he was "ready to go."
"I just got rolled up on. Just a little scare," Stevenson said, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller.
So the Patriots are expected to have their two-headed monster in the offensive backfield with Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson against a Raiders defense that has struggled to stop the run this season. Opposing teams have been averaging 134.5 rushing yards per game against the Raiders, which is currently the sixth-worst in the NFL.
Along with Stevenson likely being available, the Patriots are also hoping to get star
defensive tackle Christian Barmore back in the mix for Sunday's game. He is officially listed as questionable to play, but he was a full participant at Friday's practice.
Barmore's expected return to the defensive front comes at a time when the defensive backfield is ravaged with injuries. Multiple cornerbacks, including Christian Gonzalez, Carlton Davis III, Channing Canada and Karon Prunty have all been ruled out for the game.
Barmore's presence could help the Patriots generate pressure up front and stave off the Raiders' rushing attack.
