The New England Patriots signed running back JaMycal Hasty to a one-year deal, per USA TODAY SMG's Arye Pulli.
Hasty has been with the Patriots on several occasions. He was first acquired by the Patriots off waivers in 2023. He appeared in two games that season. He took on an expanded role in 2024 and appeared in 15 games, carrying the ball 20 times for 69 yards.
The veteran rusher joined the Patriots again in 2025 after a stint in free agency. He signed with the Patriots ahead of training camp, but he was released during the team's final roster cuts last season.

The signing is great timing for Hasty with the Patriots scheduled to play in their first preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday.
It will be a quick turnaround, but the Patriots are expected to play mostly backups in the exhibition game. That should set the stage for Hasty to get in on the action and see some reps in the offensive backfield.
