The New England Patriots announced multiple transactions on Thursday.
They signed safety Elliott Davison to the practice squad, and they released defensive tackle Jalen Hunt in a corresponding move.
Davison originally came into the NFL with the New Orleans Saints. He spent the 2025 season on New Orleans' practice squad and was in training camp with the Saints this summer, but he was released on August 30.
Hunt was just signed by the Patriots on September 1. He also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars in April. He played collegiately at Cincinnati, as well as three seasons at Michigan State. The defensive tackle was productive at the collegiate level, playing in 48 games and finishing with 47 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
The Patriots have continued
to search for depth at safety with Kevin Byard and Craig Woodson as the starters. Jaylen Reed and Dell Pettus are the other two safeties currently on the main roster. Perhaps Davison could factor into the mix down the road.
