The New England Patriots were already thin at multiple positions heading into Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
And it continued to get worse.
Defensive tackle Christian Barmore, cornerback Carlton Davis III and offensive lineman Greg Van Roten all left the game early with injuries.
The defensive front struggled throughout the second half with both Dre'Mont Jones and Harold Landry III out for the game. They are down to rookie second-round draft pick Gabe Jacas and second-year edge rusher Elijah Ponder as the top options at that position.
The Patriots' secondary hasn't fared any better with the unit already missing starting safety Craig Woodson. Davis leaving the game is yet another blow to a thinning group.
And Van Roten was the replacement
for veteran right guard Mike Onwenu. So the situation has gone from concerning to dire on the offensive line.
