New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels discussed the lull in the Patriots' offense over the first two games when speaking with media members earlier in the week.
The Patriots are currently averaging 15 points per game, which ranks 26th in the NFL. They are also ranked 20th in the league with an average of 302 total yards per game and 25th in passing with an average of 179.5 passing yards per game.
If there's been one positive, it has been the rushing attack, with the team ranking ninth in the NFL with 122.5 rushing yards per game.
Despite the early offensive struggles, McDaniels isn't ready to hit the panic button. In fact, he views the first couple of games as an extension of training camp.
"I think it’s normal. This time year
is generally an extension of what you were doing in training camp... I don’t know if anybody is where they want to be," McDaniels said, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller.

There has been sloppy football across the league with many teams still searching for an identity.
Such was the case for the Patriots last season as well, before they finally turned things around and went on a 10-game winning streak. They'll have a great opportunity to get back on track in Sunday's Week 3 matchup on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
