New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson has not yet been cleared to return to full participation at practice, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.
Henderson left the field after slipping on a cut during practice last Monday and did not return. Last Thursday, Boston Globe's Christopher Price reported that the second-year running back avoided a serious injury and is expected to be "good to go" for the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks.
However, the fact that Henderson isn't practicing with the Week 1 game only eight days away is a concern and something to keep an eye on in the coming days. The Patriots will be on a short week with the game scheduled for Wednesday, September 9.
That doesn't leave much time for Henderson to get back
on the field.
TreVeyon Henderson should be “good to go” for Week 1 of the regular season, as a league source indicated he avoided a serious right ankle injury when he slipped on the turf at practice earlier in the week.

If Henderson isn't able to go, the Patriots still have veteran Rhamondre Stevenson, and they recently traded for former Arizona Cardinals running back Corey Kiner. They would probably dip into the practice squad and bring up either Hassan Haskins or Lan Larison as well.
Make no mistake, the Patriots are a much better football team when Henderson is healthy. Now is not the time to push the panic button, but the team is getting closer to the point where Plan B considerations will be required.
