New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel had rave remarks regarding rookie linebacker Quintayvious Hutchins.
Speaking before the media on Tuesday, Vrabel lauded Hutchins for being coachable and playing well on special teams throughout the summer, which factored into him making the final 53-man roster.
“I think he continued to be coachable,” Vrabel said. “I think that that was something that he really improved on. To take the coaching and understand where he needed to improve. I think that just looking at special teams, I think that was something that he improved at.”
Hutchins positioned himself as a viable depth option at outside linebacker during the Patriots’ offseason program after being selected with the No. 247 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
He followed that up by earning his spot on the team through his play in training camp and the preseason slate.
Hutchins recorded two tackles in the Patriots’ preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts and shined against the Philadelphia Eagles’ in the team’s second matchup, recording a sack and a tackle for loss in the game.
His disruptive showing in the second preseason game helped elevate his standing as New England approached its roster deadline. Hutchins will now look to rise in the depth chart and carve out meaningful playing time in 2026 for New England under Vrabel.
