New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 4, following his emergent performance in the team’s 29-26 victory over the Buffalo Bills.
Maye completed 22-of-37 passes for 269 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He added 54 rushing yards on eight carries, using his mobility to extend plays and create additional opportunities for the offense.
Maye guided New England to a win on the road at Highmark Stadium, delivering a late touchdown pass to Efton Chism III to put the Patriots ahead with less than two minutes remaining. The victory moved New England to 2-2 on the season and provided the team with a pivotal win against their AFC East foe.

The award recognizes Maye for having overcame a slow start to the season from Weeks 1-3, when he had a hard time limiting interceptions and finding his receivers in the end zone.
Maye was able to make plays through the air and on the ground in a hostile road setting against Buffalo, which highlights the special nature of his play in an important win for New England this season.
