The New England Patriots are expected to sign defensive tackle DaQuan Jones to a one-year deal worth as much as $6 million, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, following the team’s Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Jones started in all 12 games that he played in during the 2025 NFL season. He recorded 22 tackles, three sacks, two pass breakups, an interception and a forced fumble on the year.
The veteran Jones will give New England a veteran presence along the interior of its defensive front. Known for his strength and ability to cause disruption in the front four, he will be tasked with helping the Patriots defend the run and get after the quarterback.
Jones joins a defensive tackle unit in New England led by Milton Williams and Christian
Barmore. For New England, Jones will improve the team’s depth and reliability at the position. The Patriots are set to bring in Jones as they prepare for their Week 2 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
