New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel bluntly hinted at more opportunities for Efton Chism III following the second-year wide receiver's big performance against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
With injuries mounting at wide receiver, Chism was one of the players who stepped up on the road to upset the unbeaten Bills and hand them their first loss ever at the new Highmark Stadium.
On a game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter, Chism caught a beautiful 19-yard pass from Patriots quarterback Drake Maye downfield. He then hauled in a 23-yard one-handed touchdown reception to put the team out in front. Overall, he finished with two receptions on four targets for 42 yards and a touchdown.
When asked if Chism could get more opportunities after Sunday's
performance, Vrabel claimed that could very well be the case moving forward.
"Sure, of course. That's what happens," Vrabel said, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller. "I mean, guys continue to take advantage of their opportunities, they get more opportunities. I mean, we've been finding ways to work Chis in there previously. And it's a balance, but he certainly did a lot of things well. I know that he'll continue to do things well for us and continue to know a bunch of different spots."

Mike Vrabel: "sure of course"
Chism has proven himself to be a dynamic playmaker in space with real value for a Patriots team that could be missing both A.J. Brown and Mack Hollins in Week 5.
Perhaps it's finally time to give the former Eastern Washington star a more prominent role on Sundays.
