New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez is still standing behind Drake Maye after the third-year quarterback turned the ball over three times on Sunday in a 35-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Maye went 14-of-25 passing for 199 yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions and one fumble. It was one of the worst games of his professional career. Perhaps the worst turnover was the interception that he threw in the red zone late in the second quarter that ruined any chances the Patriots had to cut into Jacksonville's early 11-point lead.
Many have questioned Maye's decision-making with the ball in his hands, but the third-year quarterback has continued to get support from his teammates, including Gonzalez.

It’s clear that Maye is struggling right now considering he has already thrown six total interceptions in three games. Whether it is the playcalling of Josh McDaniels, Maye's struggles, or a lack of personnel on the offensive side of the ball, the offensive unit looks lost at the moment.
Gonzalez and the defensive unit have looked promising, but they could not stop the bleeding on Sunday.
