The New England Patriots might be without star wide receiver A.J. Brown for Sunday's AFC East divisional game against the Miami Dolphins.
After being listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's injury report, the three-time All-Pro wideout did not practice on Thursday. He is still pushing through the ankle injury that he suffered in the opener against the Seattle Seahawks. But unfortunately for the Patriots, that isn't the only injury causing issues for Brown.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Brown isn't practicing because of a "knee issue that has flared up." The veteran has dealt with knee problems in the past, and it was one of the fears that came with the Patriots' decision to trade a 2027 fifth-round draft pick and 2028 first-round
pick for him over the summer.
If Brown is sidelined for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, it would leave the Patriots thinner than they've been all season at receiver. They are also still missing Romeo Doubs and Mack Hollins. They would be down to DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism III as their top receiving options.
It would force the team to turn to the practice squad for wide receiver help for the first time this season.
