New England Patriots star A.J. Brown is expected to see a rise in numbers next season, but will he lead the league in any one statistical category?
Fox Sports’ Henry McKenna picked Brown to lead the league in receptions next season.
”Brown will be at the center of all of it,” McKenna said. “He got tired of not getting the ball in Philly. The Patriots will make up for it in spades. Maye is going to feed Brown early and often. The three-time All-Pro is 29 and has a knee issue that might impact his explosiveness down the line, which is all the more reason to get him to the top of the receptions category in 2026.”
Brown was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in June and will be Drake Maye’s No. 1 option in 2026. The 29-year-old has consistently
commanded heavy target volume throughout his career, garnering at least 100 targets in five of his seven seasons in the league and recording at least 1,000 receiving yards in six of his seven seasons in the league.
He also posted 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025.
Brown’s expected workload in New England has him in position to post a potential league-leading receptions total. With a prominent role in the Patriots’ passing attack, his resume and anticipated target volume make him a strong candidate to lead the NFL in catches.
