The New England Patriots have ruled out two defensive players, while also listing two more players as questionable to play in Sunday's Week 3 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
According to Patriots coach Mike Vrabel, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller
, edge rushers Dre'Mont Jones and Quintayvious Hutchins have both been ruled out for the game. Rookie tight end Eli Raridon and safety Craig Woodson are questionable to play.Jones left last week's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers early with a shoulder injury. It's a tough loss given the lack of depth already at the position. Keep in mind that Harold Landry III, the team's top sack producer in 2025, missed all of training camp and has yet to return from injury. Losing both Jones and Hutchins
could cause real issues for the Patriots' defensive front.
The good news is that Woodson and Raridon will have a shot at playing in Sunday's game. Raridon injured his thigh in last week's win over the Steelers, while Woodson was seen after the game wearing a sling after injuring his shoulder. With Dell Pettus going on injured reserve, it would be another tough blow to the defense if Woodson wasn't able to play.
The Patriots not only have to overcome a dangerous Jaguars team on the road, but they might have to dig deep into their reserve options on the depth chart to do so.
