New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins is ready to put the team’s 13-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the season opener behind him, after being defeated in gut-wrenching fashion.
According to the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed,
Hollins stated to the media after the game that shaking off the loss will be more beneficial toward having a successful season overall rather than dwelling on the defeat.“You either move past it or you go 0 and 17,” Hollins said. “I’d rather move past it.”
The Patriots made critical errors in the game that cost them the win. Patriots quarterback Drake Maye threw three interceptions, Romeo Doubs had a major drop in the fourth quarter of the game, and the offense did not click as expected of them for the totality of the game.
Hollins recorded four receptions for a team-high 51 receiving yards in the loss to Seattle. He was unable to help New England come away with the victory in the end after the team held a lead for much of the game.
New England will have the Seahawks game to use as a learning experience before establishing its game plan for next week.
