FOXBOROUGH, Mass — TreVeyon Henderson's impact was certainly felt on the field during the Patriots' 20-3 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, with the running back scoring the first touchdown of the contest.
After sitting out the season opener due to injury, Henderson was back for Week 2 and came in on the team's second drive, capping it off with a 49-yard rushing touchdown. But along with his impressive run, a lot of credit goes to his teammates who blocked perfectly to create a lane for him to run through.
That included DeMario Douglas, who knocked two guys down at the end to give Henderson an opening into the end zone. After the game, Douglas spoke about this moment, but the smile on his face truly said it all.
"It felt good," he told
reporters. "I feel like that's been everybody's question: 'Oh, he's too small. He can't block. He can't do the block.' And I feel like that's where I've been harping on my game. I can run routes, I get open, catch the ball. But having that not me mentality, not selfish mentality. Getting to spring somebody open, that feels way better. It feels good."

The receiver, who stands at 5-foot-8, even managed to knock down two defenders.
His reaction to that: "Whoever's in the way."
After the game, Henderson credited his teammates, saying he wouldn't have been able to score without all they did on the field, and of course that included Douglas. So, when talking to the running back after the game, Douglas had one request as a way for him to say thank you.
"I just told my boy, 'Just get me some pancakes,'" he said. "I told Tre to get me some pancakes in the morning. That would be good."
