New England Patriots cornerback Carlton Davis III is expected to play in Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Davis returned this week and has been a full participant on the practice field. It's great news for the Patriots after the veteran defensive back was forced to miss last week's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His presence will ensure that the defense has all of its top corners available to battle with the Jaguars' offense on Sunday.
Charles Woods held his own when stepping up as a replacement in last week's 20-3 win over the Steelers. However, the combination of Christian Gonzalez, Marcus Jones and Davis gives the Patriots one of the best defensive backfields in the NFL.
Having Davis back in the fold should make
New England's defense even scarier to contend with in games. At the very least, it's a group capable of giving Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence headaches in the upcoming AFC clash.
