New England Patriots wide receiver Efton Chism III isn't on the practice squad, and he also refused to take the low road when asked about the postgame comments made about him by Buffalo Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
After Chism's game-winning catch to knock off the Bills in Week 4, Gardner-Johnson called the second-year NFL receiver an "elevated guy" who made a catch that "probably won't happen to him again." It came off as poor sportsmanship from a talented veteran player and former Super Bowl champion.
Chism was asked about those comments directly when speaking with reporters on Wednesday.
"He's a great player. They're a great team," said Chism. "I got a bunch of respect for him, but we're excited for this week, looking forward to the Raiders."

"He's a great player. They're a great team. I got a bunch of respect for him, but we're excited for this week, looking forward to the Raiders."
Chism is on to the Raiders, and so are the rest of the Patriots players.
They earned a monumental road win against a Bills team that came into the game unbeaten. Chism's clutch plays late in the game played a major role in the Patriots coming away with the victory. His 19-yard reception on the game-winning drive, followed by his one-handed 23-yard touchdown grab, helped keep New England in the AFC East hunt.
If they have any hopes of remaining there, they need to handle their business at home against the Las Vegas Raiders this week more so than trading public barbs with Gardner-Johnson over something that happened in the past.
