New England Patriots wide receiver Romeo Doubs kept his intent on improving after the team’s 20-3 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Mike Kadlick, Doubs described his performance in the outing as a positive step for him after his down performance in Week 1.
“I thought the day was productive,” Doubs said. “I just look forward to continuously improving and looking forward to what comes next.”
Doubs made a statement in the win over Pittsburgh. He led the Patriots in receiving with 96 yards on three receptions, including a huge 63-yard reception that helped him bounce back in a considerable way after failing to record a single reception in the team’s 13-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks last week.
The Los Angeles
native picked up the slack in A.J. Brown’s absence, as the team’s superstar wide receiver missed the game against the Steelers due to injury. He is one of the Patriots’ top offensive options and is expected to continue seeing an elevated role while Brown is out.
As the Patriots move on from the win over the Steelers, Doubs and his teammates will shift their attention toward Week 3.
