It sounds like the New England Patriots might have caught a major break with injured offensive lineman Ben Brown.
The veteran guard went down with a scary-looking knee injury in the team's Week 6 matchup against the New York Jets. He could barely put weight on his leg when he was helped off the field by the training staff. It was a gut punch to a unit that was already missing Mike Onwenu and Greg Van Roten.
They also lost Alijah Vera-Tucker in the same game.
When speaking with Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller on Monday, Brown explained that the injury was not as bad as initially thought. He even revealed that he was ready to return to practice after missing the team's primetime game against the Chicago Bears last week.
"Availability is of the utmost
importance, and so trying to be able to contribute as soon as I can," Brown said.
Spoke with Ben Brown as well and he told me this too!

Added that he's excited to "do whatever I can to help out" amid all the offensive line injuries.

Brown's return would be a huge lift for the offense. Van Roten is also eligible to come off injured reserve. So there's at least a chance that the offensive line could start to look much healthier than it has in the last week.
Vera-Tucker is expected to return at some point during the season, and the team has not completely closed the door on Onwenu coming back.
Reinforcements are on the way.
