What’s in the fantasy football forecast for New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye this season?
Pro Football Focus touted Maye as being a candidate to finish as the overall fantasy football QB1 in 2026, with a faster-paced offense in New England being what’s needed to give him the edge over his peers.
”The Patriots’ 2.4% tempo rank ties for dead last among NFL offenses in 2025, and their 64.6 offensive plays per game rank 17th,” PFF’s Nic Bodiford wrote. “The New Orleans Saints’ 19.2% tempo rate ranks first by 7.3%. If McDaniels can at least triple New England’s tempo rate, it would significantly increase Maye’s fantasy-scoring ceiling.”
Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert were both named as candidates
along with Maye to be the top-scoring quarterback this season.
Maye’s combination of elite accuracy, volume passing and ability to make plays on the ground makes him a threat to outperform all of his peers at the position in 2026. He will have more talent to work with in the receiving game, thanks to A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs being in town, and the offensive line is expected to be stronger than it was last season.
McDaniels will have all of those weapons available to orchestrate a high octane offense around Maye throughout the year.
