New England Patriots rookie offensive tackle Caleb Lomu turned in a commendable performance against the Buffalo Bills in Week 4.
Pro Football Focus gave Lomu a 73.6 player grade for his play against the Bills, raising his overall grade to 78.1 on the season through the first four games of the year.
Lomu helped New England secure a 29-26 victory at Buffalo, a win that moved the Patriots back to .500 and gave the team an important win in the division. The rookie has been used primarily in a rotational role, but he has continued to make a positive early impact on the team.
The 21-year-old Lomu allowed no pressures across eight pass blocking snaps for New England in Week 4. His pass-protection showing helped the Patriots keep Buffalo’s front from consistently
disrupting the offense during key situations.
With a limited sample size, Lomu has yet to permit any sacks or quarterback hits on the season, and he has only given up two pressures. He has had an effictive start to the season, as he’s provided dependable work in his role while New England builds its offensive line depth.
