The New England Patriots will have their depth tested in Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.
On Saturday, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel ruled out three-time All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown, along with second-year standout running back TreVeyon Henderson.
With Brown sidelined, the receiving corps for the Patriots will be down to DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams, Efton Chism III and Ryan Miller, who was recently elevated from the practice squad. That doesn't leave many options for Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who is also playing behind a makeshift offensive line.
The Patriots are set at running back with Rhamondre Stevenson as the lead back, but Henderson's absence left Corey Kiner as the only depth option at the position. So the team made
the move to elevate Lan Larison from the practice squad.
Larison is a good change-of-pace option at running back with the ability to catch passes out of the backfield. The good news for the Patriots is that both veteran cornerback Carlton Davis III and linebacker Christian Elliss are active for the game.
