New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins has emerged as a player to target off of the waiver wire in fantasy football for Week 3.
Hollins has been an integral part of the Patriots’ offense this season and has a prominent role on the outside with A.J. Brown out due to injury. Brown’s current stint on injured reserve gives Hollins a chance to put up more numbers in New England’s passing attack in the team’s upcoming matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Sharp Football Analysis’ Raymond Summerlin named Hollins as being one of the best wide receivers to add in fantasy football this week.
“I am not yet giving up on Hollins as a contributor while A.J. Brown is sidelined,” Summerlin said. “He still ran a route on 77.8% of the dropbacks in Week
2. The issue was the Patriots only dropped back 27 times and Drake Maye attempted just 22 passes. They should get more push this week against a Jaguars secondary that has been shaky.”
Hollins caught two passes for 18 yards on two targets in the Patriots’ Week 2 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite having a quiet performance, Hollins is still an encouraging player for fantasy managers in need of a player who will see ample playing time consistently.
The Week 2 output was a decline from his Week 1 showing against the Seattle Seahawks, where Hollins caught four passes on five targets for 51 yards. His receptions dropped by two and his receiving yardage fell by 33 yards, leaving him with a total of six catches for 69 yards and no touchdowns on the season.
Hollins enters Week 3 with Romeo Doubs and Hunter Henry having prominent roles in the Patriots’ pecking order after both posted strong performances in Week 2. Nevertheless, Hollins has upside, with the liability to lead the team in receiving in any given game.
