The New England Patriots fought tooth and nail and survived on the road in a 24-19 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
It was a sluggish start for the offense in the first half, but on the other side of the halftime break, the team stormed out and took charge by outscoring the Dolphins 21-6.
Patriots quarterback Drake Maye led the way by going 16-of-20 passing for 199 yards and two touchdowns. He also accounted for a rushing touchdown in a game where the team racked up a combined 131 yards on the ground. Veteran running back Rhamondre Stevenson led the way with 19 carries for 82 yards.
DeMario Douglas led the Patriots in receiving with three catches for 76 yards and one touchdown.
Things looked shaky for New England at times on the defensive
side of the ball, particularly when it came to penalties. But the unit was able to hold up enough to keep the upset out of reach for the Dolphins.
