The New England Patriots announced that they signed running back Lan Larison to the active roster and elevated wide receiver Ryan Miller from the practice squad to the game-day roster ahead of the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
Larison gives New England another option in its offense. He has recorded two receptions for nine yards this season, along with two kickoff returns for 49 yards. His versatility should provide valuable depth for the Patriots, with second-year running back TreVeyon Henderson sidelined with an illness.
Miller will provide additional depth at receiver against his former team. He has recorded three receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown with Miami this season before joining the Patriots. The team was forced
to elevate another receiver with A.J. Brown, Mack Hollins and Romeo Doubs sidelined with injuries.
Sunday's matchup presents an opportunity for New England to build momentum against a division opponent. With the new roster additions, the Patriots will look to establish their running game while creating opportunities through the air.
Miller's familiarity with Miami might also provide an interesting storyline as New England prepares for a competitive AFC East battle.
