Even though the team was off, the New England Patriots were busy on Tuesday, making multiple roster moves heading into the ninth week of the season.
The team announced that they have activated offensive tackle Marcus Bryant from injured reserve, while also releasing cornerback Kindle Vildor from the active roster and wide receiver Cameron Dorner and offensive lineman Jake Kubas from the practice squad. They also confirmed the practice squad signing of linebacker Elias Neal.
Bryant's return is a huge lift to the offensive line due to his swing potential. Along with rookie Caleb Lomu, the Patriots now have two offensive lineman capable of filling in on the left and right side behind Will Campbell and Morgan Moses.
To make room for Bryant, the team
made the tough decision to cut cornerback Kindle Vildor, who is an immediate candidate to re-sign to the practice squad. Vildor was a standout in training camp, and he has also had his moments in games when the team was battling injuries in the defensive backfield.
He appeared in five games and racked up seven tackles with one forced fumble, one tackle for a loss and one pass defended.
