New England Patriots special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer has not committed to a go-to kick returner for the 2026 NFL season.

According to the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed, Springer stated to the media before practice on Sunday that he is weighing his options at the kick returner slot, with Week 1 of next season just three days away.

“We’ve got a number of guys,” Springer said, referring to his rotation of players at the kick returner position.

Efton Chism III, Kyle Williams, TreVeyon Henderson, Rhamondre Stevenson and Terrell Jennings were featured in a deep rotation of kick returners in New England last season.

Chism recorded 16 kick returns for 383 yards, averaging 23.9 yards per return. His longest return covered 31 yards. Chism also played

in eight games and caught three passes for 75 yards and a touchdown.

Williams handled 11 kick returns last season, gaining 290 yards for a 26.4-yard average. He also appeared in all 17 regular-season games, contributing 10 receptions for 209 yards and three touchdowns.

The Patriots also have other players capable of handling return duties, but the primary man for the job remains to be seen.
