New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels dropped a new detail about quarterback Drake Maye's injury.
The third-year quarterback popped up on the injury report with a shoulder injury on Wednesday, and that led many to believe that it was the same shoulder issue that he dealt with last postseason. When asked if the injury had been lingering or if it was something that happened recently, McDaniels went with the latter.
"I believe it just got dinged last week," McDaniels said, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller.
Maye has struggled through the first three games of the season, including Sunday's 35-6 blowout loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He went 14-of-25 on the day, passing for 199 yards and two interceptions. He also lost a fumble
in the game.
So through three games, Maye has thrown only one touchdown pass and committed seven turnovers.

Despite the shoulder issue, Maye was a full participant at practice ahead of Sunday's Week 4 AFC East divisional game against the Buffalo Bills.
The team will have to hold its breath that the injury isn't an issue in a game where the young gunslinger will have to match wits with Bills star quarterback Josh Allen.
