New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel announced that cornerbacks Carlton Davis III and Karon Prunty will be out for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
Davis did not practice at all this week and has been sidelined for two consecutive weeks. The veteran corner reaggravated a neck injury during the Patriots' Week 4 game against the Buffalo Bills. He did not play in last week’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders and will now sit out another game.
Prunty did not participate in practice all week either. He is dealing with the same hamstring injury that kept him out against the Raiders.
CB Carlton Davis III (neck) and CB Karon Prunty (hamstring) have been ruled out for Sunday’s game, per Mike Vrabel. No other players ruled out, but they will continue
to evaluate OT Will Campbell (knee) and RB TreVeyon Henderson (ankle).

The good news for the Patriots is that star cornerback Christian Gonzalez could be returning this week. That would be a huge lift for a defensive backfield that has been devastated by injuries. With that said, the Patriots have gotten solid production out of their reserve options, like Charles Woods and Kindle Vildor.
With Davis out, they will call on that help once more against the Jets.
