Former New England Patriots rival Ryan Fitzpatrick had a simple message for A.J. Brown doubters heading into the 2026 NFL season.
"Just wait. Watch this year," the former NFL quarterback simply stated, via the Fitz & Whit podcast.
Fitzpatrick has had stints with every team in the AFC East but the Patriots. But he has acknowledged the possibility of seeing something great develop from Brown joining New England.
The three-time All-Pro receiver will be joining a young and talented quarterback in Drake Maye, who is one of the best deep ball throwers in the NFL. He has also rejoined Mike Vrabel, the same coach who drafted him when he was with the Tennessee Titans.

This will
also be his first chance to work with offensive guru Josh McDaniels, who has a long history of making stars out of lesser receivers. Maye and Brown have been a dominant pairing throughout training camp, even in their two joint practices against the Philadelphia Eagles last week.
Stefon Diggs joined the Patriots last season and caught 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns in only one year with the team.
