The New England Patriots could be getting a major piece of their offense back on the field this week.
When asked about the possibility of three-time All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown returning this week, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel answered reporters at Monday's press conference.
"There's a chance," Vrabel said, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller.
Brown, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the Week 1 opener against the Seattle Seahawks, is eligible to come off injured reserve this week. That doesn't guarantee that he will be ready to play in Sunday's Week 6 game against the New York Jets.
But he could be.
The Patriots have been devastated with injuries on both sides of the ball. On offense, in particular, Brown and Mack Hollins are both recovering from
injuries. Running back TreVeyon Henderson and left tackle Will Campbell went down with injuries in Sunday's win over the Las Vegas Raiders. And the team was also playing without its starting fullback, Reggie Gilliam.
Brown potentially returning to the mix of a Patriots offensive unit that is still ascending, despite the mounting injuries, would be a grab your popcorn moment.
