New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson is a worthwhile player to start as a flex option in fantasy football for Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders, particularly with Rhamondre Stevenson’s knee issue creating uncertainty in New England’s offensive backfield.
Henderson has recorded 38 carries for 141 yards and a touchdown through four games played this season, averaging 3.7 yards per attempt. He also has one reception for six yards, giving him 147 yards from scrimmage. Henderson most recently handled 14 carries in last week’s victory over the Buffalo Bills and recorded 42 yards. His season-high is 76 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown on 16 carries, which came in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Stevenson has been limited
in practice this week due to injury. Although he may still play, any reduction in his workload will open the door for more opportunities for Henderson, especially in scoring situations, giving him appeal as a high-upside player for fantasy football team managers.
The Raiders have allowed the sixth-most rushing yards to opponents in the NFL this season with 538 yards, and they have also given up four rushing touchdowns. Las Vegas also yielded 177 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns to Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III in Week 4, making Henderson a favorable Week 5 matchup play.
