How do the New England Patriots stack up against the other 31 teams in the NFL after the slate of games in Week 2?
ESPN ranked the Patriots No. 10 overall in their most recent power rankings following the latest action in the NFL. After losing in the opener to the Seattle Seahawks, the Patriots bounced back with a 20-3 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.
The team still had its fair share of struggles offensively, but the defense put the clamps on Aaron Rodgers and company in a dominant win at home.
ESPN's Mike Reiss wrote:
"After leading the NFL with a 72% completion percentage in 2025, Maye has completed 67.3% of his throws through two games -- with one touchdown pass and four interceptions. Those performances came against two of the league's
top defenses (Seahawks and Steelers), but Maye isn't satisfied with his performance. 'It starts with me making good decisions, being in good plays,' he said."
New England needed Romeo Doubs and Christian Elliss to bounce back after down performances in Week 1, and both rose to the occasion, with Doubs leading the team with 96 receiving yards and Elliss with 12 total tackles and a sack.
The Patriots as a team played well, with a commendable defensive effort and better offensive showing than their 10-point performance in Week 1.
New England heads into Week 3 with momentum after their slow start to the year in the opener.
