New England Patriots rookie linebacker Gabe Jacas delivered one of the most striking defensive moments of the game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
In the third quarter, Jacas overpowered Bills' five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Dion Dawkins with a remarkable show of upper-body strength before driving him backwards, sending him to the turf and making contact on Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen, who was brought down by a quarterback hit from Patriots defensive tackle Cory Durden on the play.
The Patriots defense forced Allen to throw an errant pass after the pocket collapsed. Jacas stayed active through contact, turning a one-on-one matchup into a disruptive play against one of the most talented left tackles in the NFL.

The sequence highlighted Jacas’ exceptional ability to combine power with technique, as he has shown himself to be highly-effective at moving linemen back with the force that he exerts. Rather than relying solely on a quick first step, he used physicality to move Dawkins off his spot, then continued toward Allen as the quarterback looked for room to operate.
Jacas has played well thus far this season with Harold Landry out due to injury, and his ability to collapse the edge and force Allen into an uncomfortable position gave the defense a lift in the game.
