New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel praised quarterback Drake Maye following New England’s 45-17 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
According to 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Alex Barth, Vrabel stated after the game that he was confident that Maye had everything under wraps in the game.
“I felt like he was in control,” Maye said.
Maye delivered his strongest performance of the season, completing 26-of-34 passes for 374 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. He added 25 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground, accounting for five touchdowns as the Patriots improved to 3-2 on the season.
The 24-year-old Maye showed command throughout the game. The win over Las Vegas marked the first time this season that Maye went without throwing
an interception in a game. It was also the first time that he threw for at least 300 yards in a contest. Maye made the right decisions and delivered several explosive plays, including a 35-yard touchdown pass to DeMario Douglas and a 34-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Williams.
Maye has now thrown for 643 yards and seven touchdowns with one interception over the past two games, building on his three-touchdown performance in the Patriots’ Week 4 win against the Buffalo Bills.
The Patriots will look to carry that momentum into Week 6 as Maye continues to build on his recent stretch of efficient, confident play.
