A.J. Brown might be the new guy in the New England Patriots' locker room, but that doesn't excuse him from being called out by Mike Vrabel.
The Patriots' head coach called out the three-time All-Pro wide receiver for missing a catch during a competitive rep against cornerback Christian Gonzalez on Day 1 of training camp practice. Patriots quarterback Drake Maye floated a high pass, and Brown failed to pull it in with one hand.
When speaking with media members on Monday, the star receiver admitted Vrabel called him out during a meeting for the play.
"Maybe he thought that I was just trying to get the crowd going or something, but it's Vrabes, you know? You just take everything with a grain of salt and listen to him. Just make the catch," Brown told
reporters on Monday.

There will be plenty of tough plays to be made by Brown when going up against an elite Patriots secondary, spearheaded by Gonzalez, who is arguably the best corner in the NFL.
And Vrabel will be there to hold him accountable for every play, the same way he does everyone else.
