New England Patriots cornerback Carlton Davis III is playing at a high level to begin the 2026 NFL season.
Pro Football Focus has given Davis a second-team All-Pro nod for the first quarter of the 2026 season, which signifies him being worth the honor based off the small sample size of three games. Davis missed the Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with an injury.
The veteran cornerback has recorded a pass breakup, 16 total tackles and a tackle for loss this season. He has yet to record an interception or forced fumble, but he has given the Patriots strong production thus far. The veteran cornerback has started in all three games that he’s played this season and has stood out in New England’s defensive structure.
Davis owns a 78.1 overall
Pro Football Focus defensive grade and a 79.6 coverage grade, the latter of which ranks No. 6 at the position. He has allowed 11 receptions in coverage and has surrendered an 86.8 passer rating when targeted.
The 29-year-old’s physical play and ability to match up with outside receivers has helped New England limit opposing passing attacks. Davis’ coverage work has given the Patriots more flexibility to pressure quarterbacks, and he has strengthened a secondary expected to remain one of the team’s most important units throughout the season.
